Food court at White Flint Mall, North Bethesda, MD. Now in disuse and scheduled for demolition.
There are more photos here.
I’ve been to this mall, both in it’s heyday and after this photo was taken. The mall used to have over 100 stores open. There are now only 6, and for the most part, few people go to even those stores. While the lights are left on for those six stores, the rest of the mall has been basically shuttered. You can walk the halls, but you’d probably be the only one. It’s basically a ghost mall at this point.
The entire building is scheduled for demolition soon (with the exception of one of the anchor tenants), and the development plan for what will take the mall’s place won’t be completed for twenty-five years after demolition.
Edit: The Washington Post has a story on this with even more photos.
